China Steel Corp signs MOU with CIP and DGA for 500 MW offshore wind farm

China Steel Corp today signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) and Diamond Generating Asia Ltd (DGA) to jointly develop an offshore wind farm on Taiwan’s west coast. Copenhagen Offshore Partners has been strongly involved in bringing the parties together and will continue to take an important role in the project.

The three companies plan to set up a consortium next year to develop the No. 29 offshore wind energy concession zone obtained by CSC, Taiwan’s biggest steel maker.

Copenhagen Offshore Partners Vice President, Jesper Krarup Holst, who is also CEO for CIP in Taiwan will have a key role in a successful implementation of the plans. “Taiwan is our first choice for developing offshore energy in Asia. We see this establishment in Taiwan as a first step in a long and successful journey,” Jesper Krarup Holst said.
